Dealuminated Zeolite Y/SnO2 Nanoparticle Hybrid Sensors for Detecting Trace Levels of Propanol as a Lung Cancer Biomarker

Detection of lung cancer biomarkers (LCBs) from exhaled breath in the early stage can lower mortality. We report a highly sensitive dealuminated zeolite Y (DaY)/SnO2 nanoparticle (NP)-based sensor for detection LCBs at low concentrations. The sensing performances were tested with 200 ppb propanol, formaldehyde, and toluene different operating temperatures 175 to 300 °C. was found be efficient propanol remarkable relative response ?96 ± 2% fast time ?10 1 s 275 stability evaluated multiple loading–deloading cycles concentrations ranging 70 propanol. DaY/SnO2 NP stable exhibited high 225 °C as activation energy calculated all LCBs, lowest measured 56.7 kJ/mol. DaY plays role an excellent catalyst dehydration molecules into propene. A mechanism also proposed based on catalytic behavior well SnO2 surface.
